About

It’s a scary world when you don’t know what your threats are…

Ready to find out more?

Keynote Speakers

Our keynote speakers Adriana Marais and Tim Brown will be talking about what are the cybercrime threats that we should be aware of… and most importantly: what are the precautions being developed to create a safer online experience?

Business Expo/Stands

Showcase your business to more than 200 people for only R500 (includes 3 tickets) or R250 (includes 1 ticket). We require stands to hold a competition for event attendees to enter as they will then be given the opportunity to hand out their prize at the end of the event.

Digital Interaction

By using an online system called “Poll Everywhere” We invite guests to interact with us through their mobile devices. AppCity is giving away websites and animation videos to eager participants.
Cybercrime!

Is anyone safe?

We live in a world where we are all beginning to wonder just how safe our information is on the internet… and what are the cybercrime threats that we should be aware of… and most importantly: what are the precautions being developed to create a safer online experience?

Tim Brown will be coming to challenge us with what the POPI Act actually means to us. Our South African “Protection of Personal Information Act” has many unanswered questions in many of our minds and Tim has agreed to share his expertise.

Adriana Marais will be joining us to discuss how AI is being developed to fight cyber crime. Adriana is not only the director of innovation for global tech giant SAP, she is also one of the final 100 MARS ONE candidates.

We can all feel the pull towards “going more digital” but many of us are unsure of where to start or what protecting our information means to our business/industry/career. Why not come join the conversation?

What’s this all about?

What to expect…

Our events are aimed at inspiring new conversations around topics that we feel are important for us to be exploring  together as a community. We believe that by sharing information about the technological advancements of AI and Machine Learning as well as how our roles as humans is evolving… and how we should be preparing for the changes to come, that we can create a platform for the comfortable exchange of questions, answers and experiences.

We encourage local small business owners to hire a stand for R500 and showcase their products and/or services. Stands will be provided with a table and chairs and 3 tickets for your standholders. We encourage stands to hold a competition for event attendees to enter as they will then be given the opportunity to hand out their prize at the end of the event.

Food and drinks (cooldrinks, hot drinks and adult appropriate beverages) will be on sale.

Tickets are R50 for adults and R20 for Students (Scholars and Varsity) and Children.
